Town Evacuated as Flood Waters Rise

Heavy flooding in the town, Kempsy, in the Australian state of New South Wales, Saturday. The around 11,000 residents were issued an evacuation order as water levels at a nearby major river were due to further rise. The Macleay River, infamous for its flooding, is expected to reach a peak of 7.3 metres on Sunday. Parts of the Pacific Highway have been closed and are likely not to open for at least two days.
