Dave Larsen covers high-technology, Dayton-area research industry and consumer electronics such as smartphones.

He started at DDN in 1990 and previously has served as film critic and pop music critic. Dave graduated from the Boston University College of Communication. Larsen wrote for his junior high school, high school and college newspapers before embarking on a professional journalism career. 

He also has written and illustrated both daily and weekly comic strips for several newspapers.
