Bengals: Top 7 Needs
Saturday, April 19, 2008
What do the Cincinnati Bengals need as the draft approaches?
1. Offensive tackle: Levi Jones and Willie Anderson were banged up in '07; Carson Palmer needs protection.
Extras
2. Defensive tackle: This unit must get stronger up the middle in order to improve its porous run defense.
3. Wide receiver: Losing Chris Henry hurts. Now the offense requires an addition with kick-return ability.
4. Defensive end: Frostee Rucker is the only backup to starters Robert Geathers and Antwan Odom. Help!
5. Center: No player on the roster is under more scrutiny than Eric Ghiaciuc. This spot needs an upgrade.
6. Middle linebacker: Competition is needed to push Ahmad Brooks, Odell Thurman and Anthony Schlegel.
7. Running back: Rudi Johnson leads a five-man "tailback by committee." Wanted: breakaway threat.
