BASEBALL

EDGEWOOD-FAIRFIELD GAME POSTPONED: The Division I sectional game between Edgewood and Fairfield scheduled for Monday, May 12, was postponed due to poor field conditions and moved to today at 4:30 p.m. on the Cougars' diamond.

MADISON 7, TRI-COUNTY NORTH 3: Mike Roe homered, doubled and drove in three runs Monday for the visiting Mohawks, who improved to 16-7. Steve Johnson went 4-for-4 with a double an RBI for Madison, while Zach Hembree had a double and an RBI, and Johnny Burley, Andy McCoppin and Jake Thiem all added two hits. Tri-County North is 17-6. The Mohawks will begin Division III sectional action at home Wednesday against Dayton Christian.

LEBANON 18, TROTWOOD-MADISON 0: Patrick Campbell, Tyler Allen, Dusty Isaacs and Adam Hutson combined on a five-inning perfect game with seven strikeouts Monday for the host Warriors, who boosted their record to 17-8 against the winless Rams in a Division I sectional opener. Bo Gray was 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs for Lebanon. Other offensive standouts included Hutson (two hits, double, two RBIs), Kyle Hill (two hits, three RBIs), Zach Schnee (two hits) and Isaacs (two hits). The Warriors travel to Fairborn for a makeup game today, then visit top-seeded Clayton Northmont on Wednesday.

SOFTBALL

EDGEWOOD 7, NEW CARLISLE TECUMSEH 2: Sara Pearson fired a four-hitter with 12 strikeouts and also went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs for the host Cougars, who won their Division I sectional opener Monday. Carley Wright had three hits for Edgewood (15-8), and Jordan Rice added a pair of hits. Tecumseh fell to 6-15. The seventh-seeded Cougars visit No. 4 Kettering Fairmont on Wednesday.

MOTHER OF MERCY 8, MIDDLETOWN 7: The Middies suffered a first-round defeat Monday in Division I sectional action at the Lakota Freshman School. The Middies were seeded 19th, while the Bobcats were seeded 16th. No other details were reported.

BOYS TENNIS

WILDCATS EARN DISTRICT BERTHS: Franklin had three players earn Division II district tournament berths Monday at Princeton, and a fourth may follow. The Wildcats' Anthony Hudson won three straight singles matches to advance to the sectional semifinals, and Franklin's Mike Earach and Curtis Roberts also won three matches to make it to the final four in doubles. The Wildcats' James Pretorius will meet Fenwick's Patrick Connaughton for a district singles berth Wednesday.
