Mason's Lewis chooses Morehead St.

Mason's Grant Lewis has decided to continue his football and baseball career at Morehead State.

"I like the southern atmosphere and liked that it was a big college town," Lewis said.

The 6-foot-1, 180 pound wide receiver/kick returner was orignally recruited for football at the school located in Morehead, Ky. But on his football recruiting visit he stopped by the baseball coaches office to offer his services.

The coach was open to the idea of Lewis joining the squad next spring.

"I played two sports all through high school and I really liked it, so I thought I would do it in college," Lewis said.

Lewis was the Comets leading receiver last season with 27 catches and four touchdowns.

"They run the spread at Morehead and I liked the opportunities with that," Lewis said.

Lewis is 5-1 as a starting pitcher for the Mason baseball team and carries a 2.70 ERA.

Lewis has a 3.9 GPA and plans to study sport management at Morehead.
