- 71 sites with electrical hookups, 11 non-electric sites, 12 walk-in sites, 5 primitive sites
- The campground is equipped with showers, laundry facilities, pit latrines and a dump station
- The General Store offers camping supplies, souvenirs and snacks
- Pet camping is permitted on all sites
- Camping is permitted at six picnic shelters by reservation
Boating
- Boating with electric motors only is permitted on the 15-acre Pine Lake
- The lake is perfect for canoes and rowboats
- A launch ramp is located near the beach
Fishing and Hunting
- Bluegill and other panfish provide good sport for the fisherman on Pine Lake
- Excellent hunting for squirrel, deer, grouse and turkey in the adjacent state forest
- A valid Ohio hunting and fishing license is required
Picnicking
- Picnicking is a popular pastime at Tar Hollow.
- The picnic areas offer excellent scenery and a peaceful setting.
- 6 shelterhouses can be reserved through the park office
- 2 shelterhouses available on a first-come, first-served basis

- 3-mile section of the Buckeye Trail passes along the west side of the lake
- .5 loop trail begins at the nature center
- 1.5-mile Lakeview Trail skirts the lake
- Hiking Trail - 24 miles
- Bridle Trails - miles 25 miles
- Mountain Bike Trail - 2.5 miles
- Backpack Trails - 21 miles
