No. 7: Ninth hole, Kittyhawk Golf Center (Hawk course)

> Tee shot | Approach shot | Putt | Next hole | Dream 18 Index

The courses at Kittyhawk are built on rather flat terrain above one of the city's well fields. That's why you see so many ponds. The Hawk course is considered a stroke or two easier than the Eagle, but it is not without some challenging holes. I've always preferred it over the Eagle, which is longer. One of the Hawk's most challenging holes is the par 4 No. 9, a dogleg left with out-of-bounds stakes on the left to discourage golfers from hitting into the driving range and a bunker guarding the dogleg. It measures 421 yards from the white tees and requires two solid shots to reach a large green where 3-putts are common.
