Miami baseball team falls on the road to Auburn
AUBURN, Ala. — The Miami University baseball team spotted host Auburn seven early runs and never recovered in a 13-5 loss to the Tigers on Saturday, March 6, at Hitchcock Field in the middle game of a three-game series.
The Tigers beat the RedHawks 14-9 on Friday night.
Jordan Jankowski, Cory Klenke and Adam Eaton each collected two hits for Miami (2-6). Eaton clubbed his third home run of the season and had two RBIs.
Hunter Morris went 4-for-5 to pace Auburn (8-2).
The series finale is set for 2 p.m. today.
Miami softball team falls in extra innings
BOCA RATON, Fla. — The Miami University softball team lost to host Florida Atlantic 4-3 Saturday in the Miken Classic.
Kathryn Russette went 3-for-4 and Jenna McGivney was 2-for-4 to lead the RedHawks (5-5). The Owls improved to 8-8.
Miami faces No. 18 Florida State and Michigan State today.
Miami skating team wins national title
MINNEAPOLIS — Miami University’s collegiate synchronized skating team took first and the senior team finished third Saturday at the U.S. National Championships.
The gold medal for the collegiate team is its sixth straight national title and the program’s 12th collegiate national championship.
Miami’s senior team was third in Friday’s short program and Saturday’s free-skate program.
The RedHawks’ junior team finished fifth on Friday.
