CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday that sophomore third baseman Daniela Torres has been named the Co-MAC East Division Player of the Week.

This is the first MAC honor for her career.

Torres was one of Miami’s top hitters during the week with hits in all six of the RedHawks’ games. That included a 3-for-5 performance in the team’s marathon 14-inning game against Western Illinois on March 16.

She drove in three runs with bases-loaded double in Miami’s 6-1 win over Robert Morris. She led the team with six RBI’s during the week.

Torres also scored four runs, had three doubles and her second career home run for 14 total bases and a slugging percentage of .700. She also drew two walks and made 12 assists in the field. She shares the award this week with Akron senior Krista Hansen.
