OXFORD — The Oxford Chamber of Commerce’s Miami Business Alliance is supporting the fight against breast cancer with its Think Pink Weekend.
The event, which runs Feb. 19-21, is a community-wide effort to raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Miami University is using home athletic contests this weekend to raise public awareness. Miami’s women’s basketball team will wear pink jerseys in its game vs. Buffalo at noon on Saturday, and the men’s basketball team (2:30 p.m. vs. Southeast Missouri State) and ice hockey team (Friday and Saturday vs. Nebraska-Omaha) will wear pink shoelaces in their contests.
Community members can purchase Think Pink T-shirts through the chamber for $10 apiece and also contribute to donation jars at local businesses. All proceeds will benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
