Gausmann earns All-Academic honor

NEW ORLEANS — Miami University senior John Gausmann was named to the 2010 men’s Division I All-Academic Track and Field Team by the U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association on Thursday, July 29.

The RedHawk discus competitor, who also was an All-Mid-American Conference academic selection, finished seventh at the 2010 MAC Outdoor Championships with a toss of 160 feet, 8 inches. His personal best throw is 172-7, which he tossed May 7 at the Billy Hayes Invitational. That throw ranks Gausmann seventh all-time at Miami in the discus.
