ATHENS — The Miami University women’s basketball team continued its torrid play Sunday at Ohio.

Buoyed by a balanced attack, the RedHawks defeated the Bobcats 67-47 to extend their winning streak to 10 games. It’s the sixth double-digit win streak in school history.

Maggie Boyer scored 15 points to pace Miami, which improved to 14-3 overall and 4-0 in the Mid-American Conference East Division.

Ohio fell to 8-10, 1-3.

Hannah Robertson added 12 points, Haley Robertson had 10 and Kirsten Olowinski just missed a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds.

The Bobcats grabbed a quick 4-0 lead before back-to-back layups from Olowinski and Boyer tied the game. Two buckets from Robertson and a jumper from Lillian Pitts made it a 10-0 run.

Leading 10-7, Olowinski and Haley Robertson each connected on a pair of jumpers to key a 15-2 run that put Miami up 25-9 at the 9:10 mark of the first half.

The RedHawks led by 20 (33-13) with 5:45 to play and led 36-22 at the break. Miami held Ohio to 28 percent (7-of-25) shooting in the first half and forced 12 turnovers.

The Bobcats got as close as 42-30 with 16:08 to play, but a Courtney Osborn 3-pointer, a trey from Boyer and two jumpers from Kirstin Judson pushed the lead to 55-34.

Tenishia Benson scored 14 points and Erin Bailes added 11 to lead the Bobcats, who finished with 23 turnovers.

Pitts finished with eight rebounds, Osborn had six steals and dished out four assists and Haley and Hannah Robertson grabbed five rebounds apiece for Miami, which outrebounded Ohio 40-37.

Up next for the RedHawks is a MAC showdown Thursday night at Millett Hall against visiting Bowling Green.

The Falcons and RedHawks are the last two unbeaten teams in MAC play and are tied atop the East Division standings.
