No. 1 RedHawks battle back for 5-5 tie

DURHAM, N.H. — Miami rallied from a 5-3 deficit in the second period and salvaged a 5-5 tie Saturday night at New Hampshire.

Jarod Palmer had three assists for the No. 1-ranked RedHawks (3-0-1), and four other players also scored.

Nine of the game’s 10 goals were scored in the second period, including all five by the Wildcats (0-2-1).

Scoring goals for Miami were Curtis McKenzie, Andy Miele, Pat Cannone, Joe Hartman and Matt Tomassoni. The other assists were provided by Chris Wildeman, Tommy Wingels, Carter Camper, Trent Vogelhuber, McKenzie and Hartman.

Miami men’s cross country 25th at ISU

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Racing against its toughest competition of the season to date, the Miami University men’s cross country team ran to a 25th-place finish in the 8K Blue Race of the Pre-Nationals Invitational hosted by Indiana State University Saturday morning. The race, which featured eight nationally ranked teams, was run on the LaVern Gibson Championship Course at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center.

MU women’s cross country finishes 20th

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Miami University women’s cross country team ran to a 20th-place finish Saturday afternoon at the 6K Pre-Nationals Invitational Blue Race, hosted by Indiana State University, that was run on the LaVern Gibson Championship Course at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center. The 37-team field was the RedHawks’ toughest of the season, as it featured seven nationally ranked teams.
