EAST LANSING, Mich. — Freshman Jimmy Mullins scored 1:24 into overtime Friday night to lift Miami to a 2-1 victory over 15th-ranked Michigan State at Munn Ice Arena.
Fellow frosh Austin Czarnik assisted on the game-winner, which moved Miami to 10-9-2 overall and 6-7-2-1 in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. The Spartans fell to 11-8-2, 6-6-1-1 CCHA.
Bryon Paulazzo scored the other Miami goal. Trent Vogelhuber and Chris Wideman drew the assists.
Connor Knapp made 33 saves for the RedHawks, who wrap up the series with MSU at 7:05 p.m. today.
