Lakers hold off RedHawks
SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. — The Miami University hockey team had its three-game winning streak snapped Saturday night in a 4-3 loss at 19th-ranked Lake Superior State (13-10-3, 8-8-2-2 in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association).
Jimmy Mullin scored two goals and Reilly Smith had two assists for the RedHawks (12-10-2, 8-8-2-1).
Miami outshot LSSU 46-26, including 18-2 in the third period.
Matt Tomassoni also scored for the RedHawks, who return home Friday night against Western Michigan.

Miami Hamilton nips OU Eastern
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Ameche Okafor sank the winning free throw with 30 seconds left to earn the visiting Miami University Hamilton men’s basketball team a 67-66 win over Ohio University Eastern on Saturday.
Will McCray finished with a team-high 18 points, Kirtis Yurchak scored 17 points and had 10 rebounds and four steals, Okafor finished with a dozen points and Derek Brockman added 10.
MUH (9-8, 7-2 in the Ohio Regional Campus Conference) plays at 3 p.m. today on the road against Ohio State Newark.
