RedHawks blanks Northern Illinois

SOCCER: The Miami University women’s soccer team clinched its sixth straight berth in the Mid-American Conference tournament on Sunday, Oct. 25, with a 2-0 win over Northern Illinois.

Kersta Carlson and Allison Berkey scored second-half goals for Miami (9-7-1, 5-4-1 MAC). N. Illinois fell to 5-11-2, 1-7-2.

FIELD HOCKEY: Christine Brightwell scored 3:38 into overtime Sunday to lift the Miami field hockey team to a 2-1 win over Missouri State in Mid-American Conference play.

Maggie Marcum also scored for Miami (10-8, 6-2 MAC). The Bears fell to 4-13, 1-7.
