CLEVELAND — The Miami University field hockey team has been picked to finish second in Mid-American Conference in a preseason poll of the league’s coaches.
Kent State, with 32 points overall and two first-place votes, is the favorite, followed by Miami with 28 points and two first-place votes, and Ohio U. with 27 points and two first-place votes.
Miami and Kent State tied for the regular-season title in 2010.
The RedHawks open their season 4 p.m. Friday at Indiana.
