Miami baseball wins again in tourney

CHILLICOTHE — The Miami University baseball team beat Western Michigan 12-2 Thursday to advance to the semifinals of the Mid-American Conference tournament.

Bryce Redeker went 3-for-5 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored, and Brad Gschwind homered and scored twice for the third-seeded RedHawks, who will play tonight at 7:30 against the winner of today’s Central Michigan-Western Michigan winner. Miami would have to win one of its next two games to reach the championship.

Tyler Melling went the distance against WMU, striking out six while scattering six hits to improve to 8-2.
