OXFORD — Two Miami University baseball players, senior catcher Adam Weisenburger and senior pitcher Tyler Melling, were selected in the Major League Baseball draft on Wednesday.
Weisenburger of Plymouth, Minn., was selected in the 34th round by the Milwaukee Brewers. He batted .298 with seven home runs and 26 RBIs for the RedHawks this season.
Melling of Bellfontaine, was taken in the 39th round by the St. Louis Cardinals. The Miami left-hander compiled an 8-2 record with a 3.51 earned run average.
Miami has had 69 players drafted, including 14 during the tenure of head coach Dan Simonds.
