CINCINNATI – Max Mischkulnig was a force at both ends of the court for the Ross High School boys basketball team on Tuesday night as the Rams beat the Northwest Knights 66-62.
Mischkulnig finished with 21 points, 16 rebounds and six blocked shots for Ross, which improved to 7-3 overall, 3-1 in the Fort Ancient Valley Conference West Division.
Brandon Fernandez added 16 points for the Rams.
Northwest (3-6, 2-2 FAVC West) was led by Quez Evans with 16 points and Randal Mullins, who hit four 3-point baskets for 12 points.
Ross returns to action Friday at home against Norwood.
Winton Woods 66, Talawanda 51: The Braves (3-7, 1-3 FAVC West) were led by Austin Davidson, who scored 16 points off the bench, going 6-for-6 from the foul stripe.
Tripp Webb added 13 points, and Colton Adams totaled nine points and four assists.
Talawanda led 20-15 at halftime, but Winton Woods pulled away by outscoring the Braves 22-9 in the fourth period.
Winton Woods (7-2, 3-0 FAVC West) had four players score in double figures, led by Trent Donald with a game-high 23 points. Kwan Cheatham chipped in with 13 points, Zach McCorkle had 12 and Ronnie Rosseau scored 11.
North College Hill 77, Cincinnati Christian 66: The Cougars fell to 5-3 overall, 3-3 in the Miami Valley Conference, despite a strong performance by Ryan Arington on Tuesday night.
Arington scored 19 of his 21 points in the second half after getting into foul trouble in the first half. He also grabbed six rebounds.
Other leading players for Cincinnati Christian were David Jeffries and Jordan Erias, each with 13 points, and Kollin Thomas with 12 points, five rebounds and four steals.
North College Hill was led by Jamal Ivory, who scored a game-high 30 points.
CCS will play Friday at St. Bernard.
