FAIRFIELD BOYS HOOPS CAMP BEGINS MONDAY: The Fairfield boys basketball camp for boys entering grades 3-12 will be held Monday, June 15, through Thursday, June 18, at the Fairfield High School Arena. The camp runs from 8:30-11 a.m. for boys entering grades 3-7. The camp for boys entering grades 8-12 will run from 12-2:30 p.m.. Preregistration forms can be found on the Fairfield district basketball web site (http://www.fairfieldcityschools.com/Athletics/BoysVarsityBasketball.shtml). Walk-ups are welcome. The camp will be run by new head coach Tim Austing along with his staff and current Fairfield High School players. A boys league will also take place June 29 through July 2 at the Fairfield High School Arena. The league is for students entering grades 4-7 and will run from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day. FOREST HILLS TO HOST JUNIOR GOLF TOURNEYS: There will be junior open tournaments every Monday this summer at Forest Hills Country Club. The tourneys begin on Monday, June 15, and are open to boys and girls. There will be 9- and 18-hole events for boys and girls up to 18 year old. BEST IN WEST VOLLEYBALL CAMP: The Best in the West volleyball camp will be held June 15-18 at Lakota West High School for girls entering grades 3-8. The cost is $90 with a $5 discount per sibling and a $5 return camper discount for those who attended in 2008. MADISON GIRLS BASKETBALL CAMP: “The Winning Way” Madison High School girls basketball camp will be held in two sessions from June 15-18 in the Madison gym. The first session is for girls in grades 3-5 and will run from 8:30 to 10 a.m. The second session is for girls in grades 6-8 and will run from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Cost is $30 per camper ($20 for additional siblings). FENWICK BOYS BASKETBALL CAMP IN JUNE: Fenwick High School will hold three sessions of a boys basketball camp in June. The first session is for boys in grades 3-5 and will run from 9 a.m. to noon on June 15-19. The second session is for boys in grades 6-8 and will run from 1 to 4 p.m. on June 15-19. The third session is for boys in grades K-2 and will run from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on June 22-24. The fee for the first two sessions is $70 per camper, and the third session fee is $50. FENWICK SHOOTING CAMP: Fenwick High School will conduct a basketball shooting camp for boys in grades 5-8 from noon to 1 p.m. on June 15-19. SPRINGBORO YOUTH FOOTBALL CAMP: Registration is underway for the Springboro Football Youth Camp, which will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on June 15-18 at CareFlight Field located at Springboro High School. FAIRFIELD SOCCER CAMP STARTS JUNE 15: The Fairfield Soccer Camp for boys and girls entering grades 3-9 will be held 8:45 to 11 a.m. on June 15-18 at Fairfield High School. FAIRFIELD BASEBALL CAMP SETS DATES: The Fairfield High School baseball staff will host a baseball camp for youngsters ages 5-16 on June 15-17. Ages 5-12 will meet from 9-11 a.m. each morning and ages 13-16 will meet from 12-2 p.m. each afternoon. The camp will be held at the FHS varsity diamond behind the middle school in Fairfield, and the cost is $50 per individual. CHRIS MINNIX MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT AT WILDWOOD: The annual Chris Minnix Memorial Golf Tournament will be held Monday, June 15, at Wildwood Golf Club. The format is a four-person scramble and will have a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Registration fee is $75 per person, which includes golf and dinner. At a rate of $100 per person, you can also be a hole sponsor. Money raised from the tournament will be contributed to the Middletown Community Foundation and will specifically support the Chris Minnix Scholarship Fund. BADIN HOSTING BOYS HOOP CAMP: Badin High School will be holding a boys basketball camp June 15-18. MASANEK WRESTLING CAMP IN JUNE: The Ron Masanek Camp of Champs 2009 will be held June 15-18 at the Fairfield High School wrestling room. Each day has two workout sessions, 9 to 11 a.m. and noon to 2 p.m. The cost is $100. A $50 non-refundable deposit is due at registration; the remaining $50 will be collected on the first day of camp. Campers will receive a T-shirt. Fairfield coach Ron Masanek, Purdue University coach Scott Hinkel and former Ohio Division I state champion and NCAA qualifiers Jason Laflin and Brad Wright will cover takedowns, escapes, reversals, pinning combinations, riding and control strategies and freestyle/greco techniques over the course of the four-day camp. RALLY FOR A CURE EVENT AT WEATHERWAX: The second annual Rally for the Cure golf tournament will be held at Monday, June 15 at Weatherwax Golf Course. The tournament will be a 9-hole, 4-person scramble with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Cost is $45 per person which covers golf, cart, lunch, prizes, and $20 will be sent to the Susan G. MONROE HOSTING BOYS BASKETBALL CAMP: The Monroe High School boys varsity basketball team is hosting a basketball camp for boys from kindergarten through sixth grade from June 29 to July 2 at Monroe High School. Sessions will run from 8 to 10:30 a.m. each day. The camp costs $50 and includes and camp ball and T-shirt. MAGYC GOLF CLINIC AT WEATHERWAX: The Middletown Area Golf for Youth Council will hold its 2009 Junior Golf Clinic from 9:30 a.m. to noon on June 16. The clinic is open to any golfer age 6-17 and is limited to 100 golfers. Cost is $5 and instruction will include the full swing, chipping and pitching, putting and bunker play. MAGYC GOLF COMPETITION SERIES BEGINS: The Middletown Area Golf for Youth Council will hold four junior golf competitions this summer. Event dates this year are June 23, July 2, 9 and 16. Cost is $7 for the June 23 and July 9 events, and is $12 (includes lunch) for the July 2 and 16 events. Each event is individual stroke play. Boys and girls age groups are as follows: 10 and under, 11-12, 13-14 and 15 and over. Registration is by mail only, and forms can be downloaded at www.magyc.org. BIG BLUE GOLF OUTING DATES SET: The inaugural Big Blue Football Golf Outing will be held on Saturday, June 27, at Twin Run Golf Course. The outing will start at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start. All the benefits of the outing will go toward the Hamilton High varsity football program. The format will be a four-man scramble. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams and for the longest drive, closest to the pin and skins game. Cost is $75.00 per person which includes greens fee, cart, door prizes, food and beverages. CHAMPION FOOTBALL CAMP AT WILMINGTON: The 2009 Overnight Champion Football Camp for both junior high and high school players will be held from June 30 to July 2 at Wilmington College. Cost for the camp is $175 per camper, or $165 per camper with six or more from the same school. Costs for a commuter camper is $80. The camp will feature 7-on-7 competitions, individual position coaching, position group coaching and unlimited fundamental drills. HAMILTON JOES LOOKING FOR HOST FAMILIES: The Hamilton Joes baseball team is looking for host families this summer. A host family will provide a place to live for a Joes player from early June to the first week of August, and that is the only requirement. Meals are the responsibility of the player, although most host families are happy to include the player in family meals when there are no games. In addition to the special relationship, host families also will receive season tickets for the entire family, recognition at Host Family Day and a photo with your ballplayer. HUESTON WOODS GOLF COURSE OFFERS SPECIAL FEE: Hueston Woods State Park Golf Course is offering a half-price greens fee special during the month of June. The 9-hole greens fee will be $7 on weekdays and $9 on weekends after 6 p.m.

BOMBERS HOSTING JULY 4TH TOURNAMENT: The third annual Bombers Explosion youth baseball tournament, for 8U through 15U teams, is will be held July 4 in Middletown. Entry fee is $250 per team before June 8. Games will be played at Smith Park, Middletown High School and Johh XXIII, in Middletown. Age cutoffs for each group is May 1. MIDLIFE SOFTBALL LEAGUE IN WEST CHESTER: MidLife Softball, a men’s 35 and over softball league, will begin its third season of play in July in West Chester. OXFORD JUNIOR OPEN GOLF TOURNAMENT: The Oxford Junior Open Golf Tournament will be held July 27 at Indian Ridge Golf Club. Entry fee is $35, which includes green fees and lunch. The 12 and under division will play nine holes, while ages 13-14, 15-16 and 17-18 will each play 18 holes. Trophies for medalist and runners-up will be awarded in each division.
