CINCINNATI — Edwin Encarnacion was not in the Louisville Bats lineup Tuesday and it caused a bit of a flap and a stir with the Cincinnati Reds.

Let's hope Jay Bruce doesn't turn into Jeff Francoeur of the Braves (good power, great arm, waaay to many Ks). He needs to take alot more pitches and walk some more (as does most of team). However, "walks clog the base paths," according to Dusty. Even Adam Dunn mentioned Bruce swinging way too much during the Nationals series.

I'd say letting Bruce struggle and struggle and struggle under the brilliant tuteledge of Dopey Baker and incompetent Jacoby is the very definition of thwarting his development. He should ABSOLUTELY sit several games out and get a change in attitude and work on his horrible swing, patience and batting eye. This is just another example of idiot Baker and his brilliant philosophy of playing the cold hand., What a complete dolt.

"Dusty was in the dark on this one"? Got news for you. Dusty is in the dark on a whole lot of things. EE needs a rest? It's frickin AAA ball. Amazing! This guy is another Gonzalez. Get paid (overpaid) and not play. the Reds have to be the worst management in the bigs. And people get mad at Mike Brown. Wow!

Need him? We definitely don't need Edwin. While he's had a good stand as 3rd baseman, I'd much rather see Hairston in the lineup.

There is nothing wrong with Eddie getting two days off. This may actually help him.

I'd rather the starters try and correct their own mistakes than having the key bullpen guys try and fix it. Rhodes/Weathers/Cordero should be used only when needed. There are other guys who should come in to give 2-3 innings. If those guys (the non-end of game guys) are not used enough then yes I agree, however the end of game guys should be just that...end of game (when we're winning or tied).

The bullpen is fourth in least innings pitched because Baker leaves his starters in way too long when they getting hammered. We need a manager who knows how to use his complete pitching staff.
