U.S. held hostage
by energy
With the huge energy reserves this nation enjoys and the private sector technical abilities we have repeatedly demonstrated throughout history, that this nation is not energy and refining capacity independent is inexcusable.
It is not for lack of natural resources and private sector talent that we find ourselves at such disadvantage; rather, it is notably due to the corruption, criminal incompetence and/or the design of elected members of Congress that place this nation at such disadvantage in terms of energy independence and its related adverse fiscal and physical security consequences.
Coupling our lack of energy independence with the actions of some members of Congress to demoralize our military forces at war and encourage their enemies should result in many members of Congress not returning to their luxurious offices as they conclude a five-week "recess" but instead to prison cells.
How the citizens of the U.S. could have found a body of 545 people to represent them and "person" the constitutional offices of our great nation — 545 people who are so incompetent as to make this nation energy dependent and hostage to some of the most backward and repressive regimes of the world — is a mystery to me.
