Crappie fishing has been good, but most are small. Nice bluegills are being taken from docks and rocks. Catfish are biting all over the lake on nightcrawlers, cut shad and chubs.
Paint Creek Lake: All ramps are open and the crappie fishing has been decent. Fish with minnows around stumps and close to banks in 5 feet of water. Black/chartreuse jigs are also working. Bass are spawning so look for them in shallow water and fish with black/grape 6-inch worms. Catfish are hitting nightcrawlers and cut shad. Spillway fishing has been very good for crappies, saugeyes and catfish.
Indian Lake: Fishing has picked up for all species. Saugeyes up to 8 pounds have been caught off of Lakeview. Other good spots have been the south bank, Pew Island and near the spillway. Most boaters are trolling crawler harnesses, Vib-Es or crankbaits. Bank fishermen are using minnows under bobbers. Catfish are hitting nightcrawlers, cut shad and shrimp all over the lake. Crappies are in the pads and bluegills are around docks and rocks.
Rocky Fork Lake: Crappies are 8-14 feet deep, hitting minnows and black/chartreuse jigs. Bass are shallow along the banks. Black lizards and Bush Hogs have been working. Bluegills are abundant in all the coves. Use waxworms or redworms. Anglers are trolling for saugeyes off of the south beach.
C.J. Brown Reservoir: Walleye fishing has picked up. Anglers have been trolling and jigging over the humps and old road bed. Crawler harnesses, crankbaits are being trolled. Anglers are using Vib-Es, nightcrawlers and large minnows for jigging. Crappies up to 14 inches have been caught off of the rocks near the dam and around the marina. White bass are hitting minnows, Castmasters and Roostertails all over the lake. Catfish are biting on nightcrawlers, large minnows and cut shad.
Lake Loramie: The water is still muddy, but the fishing has been good. For crappies, fish brushy areas with minnows or chartreuse jigs. Bluegills are close to the banks, hitting waxworms and redworms. Bass are also shallow, hitting spinners or plastics. For catfish use nightcrawlers or chicken liver.
Cowan Lake: Crappie fishing continues to be good in shallow water along the north shore. Bass are also shallow. Some are hitting topwater baits early in the morning. Saugeyes have been hitting Vib-Es trolled and jigged. White bass are hitting shiny spoons, spinners and crankbaits along with minnows.
Acton Lake: Crappie fishing has been good off of the pier and along the shore around brush and wood. Most are 2-4 feet deep, hitting minnows and green/chartreuse jigs. Saugeyes have been hitting nightcrawlers, chubs and silver Rapalas. Bass are shallow, hitting spinners and topwater baits early and late.
Caesar Creek Lake: Saugeyes are starting to hit crankbaits and crawler harnesses trolled around the island. Crappies are about 6 feet deep around wood. You catch them with minnows or jigs tipped with waxworms. Catch bluegills in the brush on waxworms. Plenty of white bass have been caught on Roostertails and Mepps.
Lake Erie: Walleye fishing has been best northwest of West Sister Island, off of Niagara Reef, north of West Reef and along the Canadian border east of Gull Island Shoal.
Yellow perch fishing has been best east of Ballast Island, east of the Kelleys Island airport and south of Gull Island Shoal.
