Corey Lynch out for the year
PLACED ON INJURED RESERVE
WITH A RIGHT KNEE INJURY
ROOKIE FROM APPALACHIAN STATE
WAS BRIGHT SPOT IN ROOKIE CLASS
The Bengals on Monday placed rookie free safety Corey Lynch on the Injured Reserve list, ending his season.
Lynch, a sixth-round draft pick from Appalachian State, suffered a right knee injury in Sunday’s humiliating and embarrassing 35-6 loss at Houston.
Lynch was on crutches after the game.
He played in seven of the season’s first eight games. He had three tackles on defense, including a sack, and one interception, and he also had five special teams tackles.
Lynch joined first-round draft pick Keith Rivers on IR. That leaves DT Pat Sims as the only consistent performer in the 10-man 2008 draft class.
