Blood donors can win baseball tickets

CINCINNATI — Hoxworth Blood Center is conducting special blood drives all this week to get blood before the Memorial Day holiday.
Those who donate blood on Friday and Saturday, May 23-24, will be entered to win one of seven pairs of Cincinnati Reds tickets. Winners will be contacted Tuesday, May 27. All donors who give through May 28 will receive a free "Red Hot Blood Donor" T-shirt.

A spokesperson for Hoxworth said the Memorial Day time is difficult for the center to recruit donors because churches and businesses are unable to host drives due to closings surrounding the holiday.
On Friday, centers taking donations are located in Blue Ash, Central at the University of Cincinnati, Fort Mitchell, Tri-County and Western Hills. On Saturday, centers include Blue Ash, Fort Mitchell and Tri-County.
Community blood drives conducted Friday will be at Rookwood Commons, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Crestview Hills Town Center, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Best Buy Tri-County, 1-7 p.m.; and on Saturday, Kenton County Library, 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and 1:15-4 p.m.
