Timothy Paul & The Current reside in Newark, and will be playing Thursday, July 9, in the summer concert series, sponsored by Jeff Pohlman Tire & Auto service and Life Long learning at Miami University.

The concerts are every Thursday during the summer through the start of school, offering a variety of musical sounds. Concerts are from 7:30 to 10 p.m. with various evening business sponsorships each week. Concerts are held Uptown on the John W. Altman Performance Pavilion in the parks.

A spirit of life claims to be captured in Timothy Paul’s songs as they embody an array of feelings, thoughts and inspirations that keep the listener enjoying and asking for more.

“I write meaningful songs that all people can relate to in their own situation,” Paul said.

Family memories, love songs, aspirations and heartache are all described and perceived in his songs. Backed up with his strong vocals, a rhythmic guitar and melodic piano, Paul is guaranteed to impact a listener lyrically and musically.

His emotionally penetrating voice captures all of the excitement of modern country music with out sacrificing the heartfelt respect and roots for traditional country music.

Paul has played in such places such as the legendary Showboat Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and the I-X Center in Cleveland, along with many fairs, festivals and several performances at the Nationwide Arena and the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

He has also headlined with big timers such as Kenny Chesney, Ty Herndon and Emerson Drive.

“I’m finding myself everyday. I listen, watch and learn with how other people deal with situations in their lives and write about it,” Paul said.

From 2000-05, Paul appeared in more than 6,800 live shows. After moving to Nashville in 2005 to pursue a writing deal, then moving back to Ohio in 2007, Paul was placed “On Hold” with Kenny Chesney, Travis Tritt, Sony Nashville and other major artists.

Since 2000, Paul has released four CDs, including his newest CD entitled “Silence.”

“Giving my fans the absolute best from me, because that’s what they faithfully give me in return,” Paul said.
