Thunder Bay back next week for music festival

Thunder Bay, a classic rock and country band from Hamilton, will perform at Uptown Park on Thursday, July 30, to open part of the Oxford Summer Music Festival.

Thunder Bay has performed in the Greater Cincinnati area for 25 years.

The band plays cover music of a number of artists ranging from George Jones to John Cougar to the BeeGees.

Lead vocalist and guitarist Mike Gabbard founded the band and has earned a name for himself throughout the Cincinnati area.

Guitarist Dave Thomas of Hamilton is an accomplished rock guitarist.

Original member and Miami University alumnus Bill Eckhardt plays keyboard for the band.

Bassist Randy Colwell has more than 35 years of performing experience and performed in his own band, Southern Rain, before joining Thunder Bay.

Drummer Rick Fox also performed with his own band before joining Thunder Bay.

The performance is sponsored by Coldwell Banker College Real Estate.
