Talawanda conquers 9 teams to win Braves Invitational

The Talawanda High School swim team hosted its annual Braves Invitational meet Jan. 4 and competed against visiting teams from Eaton, Franklin, Hamilton, Harrison, Middletown, Norwood, Ross, Badin and Edgewood high schools.

In the women’s division, Talawanda took first place, with Edgewood second and Middletown third.

Eighteen Talawanda swimmers contributed points to the overall victory. The top eight Talawanda scorers were:

  • Mira Alexander (first in the 200 and 400 free relays)
  • Amy Antonius (third in the 200 free relay and 200 individual medley)
  • Olivia Callahan (first in the 200 medley and 400 free relays, second in the 500 free, and third in the 100 breast)
  • Laura DeWitt (second in the 100 back)
  • Molly Gloeckner (first in the 200 medley and 200 free relays, second in the 200 free and third in the 100 free)
  • Gracie Huddleston (first in the 200 and 400 free relays and 200 individual medley and second in the 50 back)
  • Allie Marks (first in the 200 medley and 400 free relays and the 50 and 100 flys)
  • Kyra Reisenfeld (first in 200 medley and 400 free relays, the 50 free, and the 50 back)

In the men’s division, Talawanda took first place, with Edgewood second and Middletown third.

Thirteen men contributed points to the overall victory. The top eight Talawanda scorers were:

  • Joshua Bornstein (first in the 500 free and second in the 100 individual medley and 200 free relay)
  • Edgar Caraballo (first in the 200 medley and 400 free relays and 100 fly, and second in the 50 free)
  • Jesus Caraballo (first in the 200 medley and 400 free relays and 100 free, and second in the 100 fly)
  • Joshua Crowder (first in the 200 medley and 400 free relays, second in the 200 individual medley, and third in the 100 breast)
  • McKinley Davis (first in the 200 free and second in the 500 free and 200 free relay)
  • Luke Lentini (second in the 200 free relay)
  • Scott Richmond (first in the 200 medley and 400 free relays, the 200 individual medley, and the 100 breast)
  • Benjamin Robinson (second in the 200 free relay)
