Love sports talk radio.
Just love it, national or local.
In fact, I was surprised when I drove my wife’s car the other day and I heard music. It was from an FM station.
“You have FM radio?” I asked.
“So do you,” she said.
Well, I checked, and she was correct. And I’ve got to admit, sometimes I flip over to listen.
I mean, as much as I love it, some of the talk on sports talk radio is inane. There seems to be plenty to talk about, but parsing over every single quarter — not game, quarter — LeBron James plays is becoming a little overwrought.
Agonizing over the poor results of the reserves on the Reds is getting to be too much.
Wondering — over and over — if the NBA draft lottery was fixed ... OMG, what if it was? Like, I don’t care. I’d rather watch a game and know it’s on the level than a lottery that might not have enough ping-pong balls with my team’s logo attached.
And who’s going to be quarterback for the Browns? Again, is it going to make a difference?
As for any Brett Favre comebacks, Roger Clemens perjury or more doping allegations for Lance Armstrong? How many years are we going to have to listen to that?
I’m still going to listen to sports talk radio. Sometimes you’re going to learn something about sports. Sometimes you’re going to laugh. Sometimes you’re going to cry.
And your FM dial is always going to be there, just in case none of that happens.
