MIDDLETOWN— Temperatures are expected to remain up throughout the weekend, with highs in the upper 40s, according to forecasters.
Myron Padgett, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said the expect sunny weather with temperatures in the upper 40s Saturday. Things will turn partly cloudy on Sunday, with a 30-percent chance of rain showers in the afternoon. Temperatures are again anticipated to stay in the upper 40s, with a possible high of 48 degrees.
Padgett said the region typically sees temperatures in the upper 40s by this time of the year, though he noted things are still slightly higher than normal.
“We have some southerly winds bringing those warmer temperatures up from the Gulf,” Padgett said.
Continuing the warming trend, Forecasters predict high temperatures Monday and Tuesday of next week to hit 52 and 54 degrees, respectively.
