Larry Frimerman and Gary Salmon were both re-elected to the Oxford Twp. Board of Trustees. Frimerman received 1,591 votes, which was 38.35 percent of the total, and Salmon earned 1,547 votes, or 37.29 percent of the total votes, according to unofficial results from the Board of Elections.
A total of 4,149 votes were cast for this race. Dan Umbstead received 1,011 votes, or 24.37 percent.
Frimerman said he felt relieved after finding out he was re-elected.
“I am pleased to be able to serve our township for another four years.” Frimerman said. “I will continue on the agenda to work with the city to reserve the rural character of the area.”
Frimerman thanked his supporters and is grateful for his committee’s hard work. He said that in the next few months he hopes to expand the awareness of the constituents.
“We have an opportunity to try to examine how we do things and I’m interested in opening up our process a little more,” Frimerman said. “Making our township more accessible.”
He wants to update the Web site more often to give information to those that have an issue, concern or a problem said Frimerman.
Salmon was also grateful to be re-elected and excited to continue working with the township.
“I feel that I must have done a good job for the first four years since I was re-elected,” Salmon said. “I will continue doing the same thing and keep the township financially sound.”
Salmon said that he is currently working on fixing the crossings at Ringwood Road and Taylor Road to make them safer. Frimerman and Salmon both plan on continuing their current projects and improving the township.
