MILFORD — MILFORD — About 58 jobs will be affected as printing equipment manufacturer Mark Andy Inc. said it will shut down its manufacturing and engineering operations in Milford.

According to a filing with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, the layoffs will begin in June and be completed by Aug. 28.

The company will still operate its sales and customer service divisions from its site on Lila Avenue, said Shari Strunk, human resources manager.

A severance package and other assistance has been made available to the workers, according to the filing.

I feel for these people. I have not been laid off at this time but My company has laid almost 100 off since November. Thyssen Krupp Bilstein has been knocking off people 20 to 30 at a time. and know with GM annoucing shutdowns and Chrystler filing Chapter 11 I feel we could see even more layoffs. I don't think we are going to see much help from our leaders locally and nationally.
