One day you’re in and the next day you’re out, but fashion designer Althea Harper is “in” once again.

This time it’s a video game.

The Oakwood native and University of Cincinnati graduate who advanced to Fashion Week at Bryant Park after competing on TV’s “Project Runway,” will be featured in Atari’s new “Project Runway Wii” game in stores March 2.

Harper, who placed second in the television competition, is one of eight contestants from season six appearing in the game. Also included are celebrities Tim Gunn, Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia and Michael Kors.

According to the folks at Atari Inc. and The Weinstein Company, the video game will put players in the role of aspiring fashion designers where they’ll be presented with a range of theme challenges. They’ll adorn models with hair, make-up and accessories, and can turn out everything from a rock star’s outfit to a high school uniform. Players can become the model — posing and strutting down the runway using the Wii Balance Board.

The new video game will also include an interactive garment studio, fashion career mode, hair and make-up studios, a balance board catwalk game, and a feature where the player can take part in a fashion shoot as a fashion photographer. Suggested retail is $39.99.

No I'm not Althea's mom, or PR person.
How do you not understand that DDN reports local news, Harper is local news. A local girl 'done good' story.
Atari is releasing a video game with a girl from Dayton in it, if that is not local news........ pray tell what is.

Altheafan, Are you this woman's mommy? Or are you her publicist? Gimme a break; this is NOT news. Explain how this is of value to anyone outside Harper's family and business associates. You can't because it isn't newsworthy; it's news manipulation by PR hacks and publicists and the DDN is so grossly understaffed that it will nibble at any press releases crossing the assignment editor or news editors desk.

DDN is a local newspaper, the idea is that it features national, and local news; thus Harper, being from Dayton, being featured on a video games is 'news'. If you don't like it read USA Today.
Just recently she spoke at the DAI to kick off a program for budding young fashion students, then appeared at a function for the Humane Society, in which a dress was donated by Harper. Taking time out to do this interrupted her preparations for her show at NYC Fashion Week.

Yeah, "what an honor" to be born pretty. That's a heck of an accomplishment. Yes, "someone recognized her talent" - she's a humanitarian who is helping sick people, educating our children, making her community a better place, right? No. She's a pretty girl who is featured in a video game. Who cares?

What do you mean who cares? What an honor to work so hard for something that you love. Obviously someone recognized her talent. If it were an article sbout a local athelete I'll bet you wouldnt be commenting "who cares" If you didnt care why read the article at all? Why comment at all. Jealous a$$
