Library displays fiction set in area
To coincide with Oxford’s bicentennial year, the Smith Library of Regional History is displaying “Fiction Set in Oxford,” an exhibit that will remain until September.
More than a half a dozen books published between 1934 and 2007 have used Oxford as the setting for all or part of the story. These books can be viewed in the exhibit, which includes brief plot summaries, and most can be borrowed from the circulating collections of the Lane Libraries or purchased from local book stores.
Time periods covered in the fictional works date from the 1850s to recent years and range from coming of age novels to murder mysteries. The display can be seen in the case near the Smith Library entrance on the upper level of the Oxford Lane Library at 15 S. College Ave.
