HANOVER TWP. — Voters kept three township trustees in this year’s election.
Out of three possible candidate, two trustees were elected for additional terms.
Doug Johnson will return for a third term after winning 40 percent of the vote, or 1,506 votes, in unofficial results from the Butler County Board of Elections.
Fred Stitsinger will return for a second term after earning 32 percent, or 1,219 votes, according to unofficial results.
In a race against two candidates, Larry Miller won the unexpired term ending in 2011. Miller, who has been filling the post since January, was ahead by 23 points with nearly 54 percent of the vote.
After campaigning door-to-door to meet voters, Johnson and Stitsinger said they are looking forward to continuing to tackle the business of the township.
“I was very happy that the people supported me. I’m going to continue with the next four years to do what they elected me to do,” Johnson said.
“I think we were doing some really great things and I think the people recognized that we were working hard,” Stitsinger said. “Our board works really well together and I’m just looking forward to continuing that.”
