OXFORD — Kroger’s renovation project is finally complete in time for the March 2 grand re-opening.
The major remodeling project has increased the size of the store from the previous 53,000-square-feet to 90,000-square-feet.
“There are still some small things that need to be done, like trim work and molding, but the majority of the renovation is all done,” said Ed Begley, Kroger store manager.
Customers can expect to see a new bistro area, as well as sushi bar and coffee shop within the store.
“We expanded the nature’s market and fresh produce section twice the size, as well as the organics and exotic produce,” Begley said.
The store also has a Miami apparel shop, as well as a bigger pharmacy equipped with a drive through window on the outside.
Other expanded areas include the general merchandise sections and the wine shop.
On March 2 for the grand re-opening, customers will be able to sample products such as Boar’s Head meat, Seattle’s Best coffee from the new coffee shop and sushi from the sushi bar, along with other various items.
“We are ecstatic with what we can now provide for customers ,” Begley said. The renovation took about 7 months to complete from June 2009.
