HAMILTON — The Butler County 211 Call Center operated by the Community Counseling & Crisis Center is closing Dec. 31 due to a loss of funding. It receives about 100 calls per day, officials said.

The 211 call center opened in 2003. The Community Counseling & Crisis Center has been in existence for 38 years and continues to operate.

Sandy, you should check your facts before you shoot your mouth off.

I do not have a cruiser, I'm not a cop, I own a webhosting business

Isn't this service founded by the Hamilton Community Foundation and not Butler County? I certainly do not agree that Sheriff JOnes has done as much as he could to trim his department budget. Commissioner Dixon has been a vigilant guard of how county money is spent. He desrves our praise and re election.

Joe Tellup:

Get back in your cruiser and eat a donut. The Sheriff and his huge jail have bankrupted the county. His PR skills are excellent and he is more powerful politically than anyone in the county. This 211 service could have been saved had the Sheriff met his budget cut target. People will likely die but King Richard's Kingdom survives unscathed.

And it sure as hell isn't Don Dixon or Rick Jones's fault, so how about we just shut up and get behind these guys and work through this fabricated mess. Unless of course, you already have your serial number, if that's the case, get in line and take your pill.

and instead of having to tighten the belts like the rest of us, they have indulged in lives of exorbitant luxury. No let's just blame all this on Don Dixon and the Sheriff. What in the hell are they supposed to do? just give up? If it wasn't for Don Dixon and the Sheriff you and I would be wearing a serial number tattooed on our forearm and clicking our heels together when we salute the supreme dictator. The money just isn't there. It's not my fault, it's not your fault.
