Staff Report Updated 8:32 AM Friday, July 24, 2009

Animal Friends Humane Society is cutting adoption prices in half in August as it prepares to move to a recently completed shelter.

From Aug. 1-7, the standard fee for adopting adult dogs is reduced to $50, and $32 for adult cats. The price for puppies during that week is $60, and $40 for kittens.

The agency plans to relocate on Aug. 8 from its current facility in Trenton to a much larger shelter on Princeton Road in Hamilton.

During the two days of the move, the shelter will be closed. The agency is looking for volunteers to help with the move.

For more information or to volunteer, call (513) 867-5727.

I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.

The staff members are so rude. I sat in that small front lobby for a good 30 mins. before I could get a dog from the cage & walk him. They ignore you and talk to you like your a child. I even sent a letter to the director and no feedback. The volunteers are MORE caring and supportive then those staff members. Its an "animal shelter" not a "garbage landfill". I hope when they move to the new location they appreciate what they have. Those animals need attention & to be walked not caged up 24/7.

I RECENTLY WENT TO ADOPT A DOG. THE ANSWERS TO ALL THE QUESTIONS THAT I HAD WAS "I DON'T KNOW"
WHY ARE THEY THERE IF THEY DON'T KNOW. THE STAFF NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BEGINNING WITH THE DIRECTOR.. THE ONLY HELP I RECIEVED WAS FROM A YOUNG 14 OR 15 YR. OLD GIRL THAT SEEMED TO REALLY CARE. I WOULD NEVER ADOPT AN ANIMAL FROM THIS PLACE...GOD HELP THE ANIMALS....

Reading all the comments there seems to be a lot of negative thoughts. My husband and I want to be volunteers but it seems like if something doesn't change with the staff there will be no one helping out and the poor animals will be the ones to suffer. you need staff that is going to be caring. It sounds like you need better Customer Service if you want to be a success.I have tried numerous times to get a hold of someone to talk to about voluntering and I can't get a response.

Someone please save the dogs from this place!!! If the way the clients are treated is any indication of how the animals would be treated then they should not be allowed to be in business. The facility was horrible and the help 20 times worse. They need to consider more than getting a new building but also a new staff to run it.
