ROSS TWP. — Ross Twp. police are trying to find the owners of three white horses found walking the streets this week.
Officials sent out an online alert Thursday morning after they found the horses, one of which has a brown face, walking down Layhigh and School roads.
Chief Ben Kramer said on Friday that officials have checked with several people in the area and as far as Clermont County for possible owners, but no one has stepped forward to claim them.
Kramer said a local family that cares for horses has agreed to keep the horses until their owner is found.
Kramer said Ross Twp. police often receive calls about runaway farm animals.
But it’s unusual that it’s taken this long to find the animals’ owner.
“We find horses and cows all the time. But we’ve always ben able to find the owners relatively quickly,” Kramer said.
Anyone with information about the owners of the horses is asked to contact Kramer at (513) 863-2337 or bkramer2@sbcglobal.net.
