OXFORD —

Under The Streetlamp, the fearless foursome of vocalists on a mission to breathe new life into the American Radio Songbook , will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21 at Miami University’s Hall Auditorium.

Streetlamp’s joyous take on early rock and roll, doo-wop and Motown classics have just completed a successful series of concerts across the country. Their live show taped at the Star Theatre in Indiana has aired more than 1,500 times on PBS stations across the country, reaching over 90 percent of the US market and was one of the highest rated shows on PBS in the last 12 months.

Formed in Chicago in 2010, the members of Streetlamp, including Dayton native and Miami University alumnus Michael Engersoll (2001), performed in various touring companies of the Tony Award winning hit “Jersey Boys.”

The four lead singers realized their devotion to the classic tunes beyond the material by the Four Seasons required forming their own supergroup that could revitalize the hits for audiences of all ages. While touring locally in the Chicago area, they quickly earned a fan base and came to the attention of manager Charlie Blum.

“I was instantly struck by the boys clearly authentic love for this music, their amazing showmanship and rapport with one another and nightly standing ovations throughout the show. It’s one big party for audiences of all ages,” said Blum who also runs the Star Theatre in Chicagoland.

Under the Streetlamp is presented by the Miami University Performing Arts Series, with funding from the Earl Reeder Visiting Artists Fund. Media partners are 88.5 WMUB, 90.9 WGUC, and 91.7 WVXU.

Tickets are $35 for adults, $34 for seniors and $17 for students and youth.
