WEST CHESTER TWP. —
Two Hamilton residents are facing felony charges after local police shut down the makings of a methamphetamine lab found inside a hotel.
West Chester Twp. police received a complaint around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday from someone at Tri County Inn, located at 10110 Princeton Glendale Road, according to Officer Jeff Newman.
“We found meth lab precursors, things used to make meth,” Newman said, inside room 417.
Newman said two suspects have been charged, and are being held in Butler County Jail.
Gerald D. Marcum Jr., 47, and Brenda L. Dungan, 48, both of Hamilton are charged with illegal manufacturing of drugs, a second-degree felony, and illegal assembly of chemicals to manufacture drugs, a third-degree felony.
Marcum faces an additional felony charge of tampering with evidence. Court appearances have not been set yet in Butler County Area III Court.
Officials with the West Chester Fire Department also responded to Tri County Inn to ensure the safety of the area. Newman said several neighboring hotel rooms were evacuated as a precaution but have since been cleared of any danger.
Police have not released information on what was seized from the hotel room, or how in-depth the alleged operation was.
