Butler County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a truck driver from Columbus, charging him with pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor.

According to the sheriff’s office, investigators had received information that a computer thumb drive found in St. Clair Twp. contained sexually-oriented photos of minors. Their investigation eventually led them to the suspect, Robert Burwinkle, 52, of Columbus.

Investigators located Burwinkle in Butler County on Thursday. He cooperated with them during an interview that led to the confiscation of additional pornographic items involving minors. With assistance from the Columbus Police Department, a search warrant was conducted at Burwinkle’s residence there, where additional items were collected.

After an initial appearance in Hamilton Municipal Court this morning, Burwinkle remains in the Butler County Jail with a $45,000 bond. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are expected to be presented to the Butler County Grand Jury.
