Sheriff’s deputies to have presence in Butler County schools

BUTLER COUNTY —

Butler County sheriff’s deputies will be making routine stops at all the public schools daily under a new initiative announced by the sheriff.

Sheriff Richard K. Jones announced today his road patrol deputies will begin making daily stops at all the public elementary, middle schools and high schools within their jurisdiction, starting this week. He said private and parochial schools will be added to the list upon request. The deputies may even lunch with the students if time permits.

Jones said he “takes the safety of our children very seriously and will strive to maintain a safe learning environment for the citizens of Butler County.”
