Oxford Seniors is one of only three nonprofits chosen to compete in a new Facebook contest to win $10,000.

The contest is called Generosity Footprints™ and the application launched midnight on Oct. 1.

The Facebook-based application is designed to help a non-profit organization win $10,000 while growing individual and collective acts of generosity in local communities. Oxford Seniors is one of three contestants selected to benefit from participation in this unique social media event. Whichever nonprofit earns the most footprints by midnight Jan. 31 wins $10,000. Second place gets $2,500 and third place walks away with $1,000.

How can you help? Log on to Facebook between now and Jan. 31; visit the Oxford Seniors page or search for the Generosity Footprints™ application and get busy doing generous things in your community to earn generosity footprints. Every footprint you earn equals one vote.

Individual participants also will have opportunities to win prizes for themselves. If you are one of the top three participants with the most footprints earned, you’ll get a significant prize yourself. Individual prizes will also be awarded to participants by lottery throughout the competition.

Every footprint you earn equals one vote for Oxford Seniors and you earn them by:

• Logging on (footprints awarded daily)

• Doing something generous and sharing what you did

• Inviting others to participate

• Playing a fun game that’s part of the application

• Donating to Oxford Seniors

• Being or becoming a member of LCBA, the application sponsor. (Not required)
