The Oxford Seniors will hold their annual Holiday Market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17 at the senior center at 922 Tollgate Drive.

Come and choose from a fine selection of handcrafted gifts and homemade goodies, collectibles, knit and crochet items, stained glass, wood crafts, and reflective address signs.

The Top of the Hill Café will offer delicious bean soup, desserts, drinks and bake sale items. Bean soup and cornbread will be available for $3.50 per person and dessert and coffee for $1.75 per person. Start your holiday shopping by supporting the Oxford Seniors Holiday Market.

• Respiratory therapist Pam Hart will speak about “Living with COPD” at Oxford Seniors. The presentation will take place at 5:45 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 19. Supper for a Buck will be offered at 5. Sign-up at the center or call (513) 523-8100 to be included for dinner and/or the wellness lecture.

• Oxford Seniors has 40 percent of the Generosity Footprints Contest votes on Facebook. Support the organization by logging onto your Facebook account, searching for “Generosity Footprints” and voting for Oxford Seniors. Register your generous acts and add even more points to Oxford Seniors score. For more information about the contest, contact Joan Potter-Sommer at (513) 523-8100.

• Oxford Seniors will be closed on Thursday and Friday to celebrate Thanksgiving.

Highlights for Nov. 19-23

• “Living with COPD” presentation by Pam Hart on Monday beginning at 5:45 p.m.;

• No congregate lunch at the Top of the Hill Café on Tuesday;

• Pool players will host Springdale on Wednesday beginning at 10 a.m.;

Weekly routine activities:

Exercise at 9:30 a.m. Monday and Friday, with a suggested donation of $1 per class

Pottery class, Monday from 10 a.m. to noon; $10 for a ball of clay

Cards at 1:15 p.m., Monday and Wednesday

Quilting at 1:15 p.m. Monday

French Club, 3 p.m. Monday

Woodcarving, 1:15 p.m. Tuesday

Bowling at Oxford Lanes, 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Hand and foot massages, Wednesday beginning at 9 a.m.; call (513) 523-8100 to make an appointment.

Computer class/help at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Stained glass class at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Menu

Top of the Hill Cafe luncheons are at 12:15 p.m. Monday and Wednesday this week. Suggested donation of $2.50 per meal for adults 60 years of age or older. For reservations, call (513) 523-8100.

The senior menu for this week is:

Monday – fried fish on a bun, mixed veggies, coleslaw, fruit gelatin salad

Tuesday – no lunch (Talawanda Middle School Luncheon)

Wednesday – baked meatloaf with gravy, whipped potatoes, carrots, dinner roll, fruits for salad, iced cake

Transportation

Senior Transportation hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Mondays. Enjoy an early dinner, or go shopping or visiting.

Transportation hours on Tuesdays through Fridays are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the last appointment scheduled at 3 p.m.

Rides also are available on Sundays, 9 a.m. to noon.

Senior transportation is offered for adults 60 years of age or older or for the disabled of any age. Priority is given to medical appointments, but rides also can be scheduled to go shopping, to the hairdresser, out to eat, visiting, etc.

Rides should be scheduled 24 hours in advance by calling (513) 523-1717. The suggested donation for a one-way trip is $1.50 or $3 for a round trip.

• Home Delivered Meals, available through the Center, can be arranged by contacting the Elderly Services Program (ESP) intake department at 1-800-215-5305 or (513) 868-9281.
