Kyle Xavier Van Frank, 2006 graduate of Talawanda High School who is serving in Afghanistan, recently was promoted to Sergeant.
Van Frank is home based in Fort Riley, Kan. the home of the Big Red One.
Van Frank, a 2010 graduate of Ohio University, completed Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and Field Artillery and Bradley Fire Support School at Fort Sill, Okla. He was awarded the Department of the Army Achievement Medal in March of 2012.
He is the son of Roger and Connie Van Frank of Oxford.
