FAIRFIELD — Texas EquuSearch utilized additional resources at its Thursday search for Katelyn Markham, but still did not find any evidence leading to her whereabouts.

Nearly 14 Texas EquuSearch volunteer members from across the country are in Fairfield to lead the searches, and sonar, All-Teraine Vehicles, horses and a cadaver dog are available for volunteers to assist in finding Markham, who’s been missing since Aug. 14.

About 90 volunteers joined EquuSearch members at the start of Thursday’s search. They were split up into two groups and drove to undisclosed locations.

Tim Miller, founder and director, declined to elaborate on where searches have been and would be conducted, explaining that in previous cases, bodies have been moved into areas the media reported as being searched and cleared of any evidence.

Searches also will be conducted Friday and Saturday. Dave Radar, a volunteer with Texas EquuSearch and S.T.A.R.R., Search Tactics and Rescue/Recovery, said the possibility of a Sunday search is still being decided.

He said they didn’t want search efforts to interfere with Sunday services and the local headquarters at Fairfield West Baptist Church.
