The Oxford Braves under-8 all-star youth baseball team won a tournament in Greensburg, Ind. last month with a 17-14 win over Hamilton West Side in the championship game.
The team posted a 4-1 record in the tournament.
The Braves were led in the finals by stellar defense from Auston “Boss” Crank and Trevor Fisher. All 14 players on the team had at least one hit.
The victory raised Oxford’s record to 11-4. The Braves, managed by Tommy Crank, have placed in two of the three tournaments in which they have played.
Crank said the Oxford Braves, next year, will have under-10, under-9 and under-8 all-star teams and possibly an under-7 all-star team.
