Richmond man in wrong place, wrong time
A Richmond, Ind., man was in the vicinity of a hit-skip accident Uptown February 3 and a police investigation revealed he was not involved, but in the course of speaking to him, the officer found that he was wearing a knife sheath with a lock blade knife open under his shirt.
Police were looking for a Pontiac which had been involved in an accident at 2:35 a.m. near the intersection of High and Beech streets.
They found a Pontiac in the parking lot at the United Dairy Farmers with the engine running and some damage to the body. The driver came from the store and told officers he was driving that car which belonged to his girlfriend. The damage, he said, was old.
While questioning him, a bulge was seen under his shirt and the many handed over the knife.
He was charged with a misdemeanor count of carrying a concealed weapon and taken to the Butler County Jail.
Officer sees man punch another
An Oxford Police officer responded to an altercation in the 0 block of East High Street February 2 as a fight was starting. The officer shined the spotlight on the two men, both from Hamilton, but they did not step away.
Instead, one of the men punched the other in the face in front of police. Officers broke up the fight and charged the man who threw the punch with assault, a first-degree misdemeanor. He was taken to the Butler County Jail.
Intoxicated man had two fake IDs
A heavily-intoxicated Miami student was seen urinating on a window at 1 West High Street at 2:57 a.m. February 1 and did not stop even as officers approached him. He was barely able to stand up, the police report noted, and he was found to be 20 years old and wearing two wristbands identifying him as 21 years old.
When police searched him, they found two fake driver’s licenses, one for Ohio and one for Michigan.
He was charged with sales to and use by underage persons, certain acts prohibited for the phony identifications and disorderly conduct.
Woman reports threats by another woman
An Oxford woman told police she had been threatened by another woman twice, but refused to file charges in the incidents.
The woman told police she had been threatened in December by the woman while they were both at an Uptown bar and was confronted by her again at another bar Uptown on January 26. The woman making the threats, she told police, is a Miami University graduate now living in Dayton.
The victim told police the other woman had threatened to assault her and pushed her several times.
Police called to Talawanda High School
A girlfriend/boyfriend situation came to the attention of authorities at Talawanda High School and Police were called there January 29. The report involved an alleged “plot” by a girl and her boyfriend against her ex-boyfriend.
The report was taken as information and no charges resulted, but the current boyfriend was found to have failed to return to the Juvenile Detention Center after a weekend furlough and was returned there.
